Kinabalu Pink Ribbon Mother's Day Walk Abreast 2014

It's mother's day....on this day a very meaningful event 'Mother's Day Walk Abreast 2014' held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. A fun walk, run and cycle for the whole family to celebrate Mothers’ Day and to promote a healthy lifestyle among women and families. Main purpose is to increase public awareness of breast cancer and earlier detection for prevention.  



As we can see more than 5,000 participants are wearing in PINK T-shirt for the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon (KPR), in collaboration with Kota Kinabalu City Hall (DBKK) held its 4th 'Mother's Day Walk Abreast' for the 4-km walk. Together with The Sabah cycling Club also giving its support in participants for Cycling 12.5km long cycling route from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and make a turn back at the UMS roundabout to the Hakka Building and ended at the finish line to the starting point. This event is happening at Taman Awan, Teluk Lintas Public park as this event is to give the public a better picture to create breast health awareness among women. 
 


Special invited guest of honour for the walkathon and cycling is flagged off by Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Datin Seri Panglima Hajah Norlidah Binti Datuk R.M and YB Datuk Jainab Ahmad Ayid, the state Community Development and Consumers Affairs Minister, and KPR president Lucilla Pang at 7.00am. 


 


Many social responsible public and corporate support this Mother's Day Breast Cancer Awareness walk and cycling with the greatest supports through volunteers, sponsorship and cash donations. In honor of this charity Mother's Day Walk Abreast 2014 is an opportunity for the family members, loved one and friends in supporting this charitable event and celebrating the wonderful Mother's day by doing the meaningful event for breast cancer victims, together we can spreading the word of love with Kinabalu Pink Ribbon.

Before the walk and cycling get started, a group of beautiful lady dancers and participants begun with group Zumba dance as warming up in performing with hot Zumba dancing simultaneously in sophisticated movement created a beautifully pink scenery....
 


There were also some of the participants in creative funky headgears and outfits for the outstanding walker to win a prize. It is really good fun and kinky styles.

The walk is quite a relaxing with refreshing fresh air and morning sunshine. After the walk and cycling ended. The events such as human formation to a largest Pink Ribbon symbol is presented.

Many lucky draw prizes for those participants get a chance to win lucky draw prizes from Sponsors such as Diamoney Mother's day jewellery, Star Cruise packages, 7-day shanghai tour packages and electronic gadgets. The organisers will give away with 20 surprise gifts to creative walker participants. Ten Prizes will also be given to 10 cyclists with creatively decorated bicycles to most outstanding cyclist. 

Highlights of the main event is 'shave or dye' from many generous volunteers and supporters for a good cause, even doctors also in participating to perform charity head-shaving to bald for the charity fund raising. It has created the most touching public scene on stage.   



A group of volunteers, doctors and participants are having temporary hair-dye with creative design by their friends and supportive helpers to help in short time-set of 10 minutes of hair designs and hair-dye in progress.

With the word of "LOVE" is the main reason for them in participating this very touchy moment....head shaving session to give full courage and support to the breast cancer survivors.

We can see this group of most beautiful and wonderful people on earth, in witness them with a short 10 minutes of time set. Doctor Vasanthi has set one good example because she cares, and others are brave and dedicated in act of kindness to go bald is to dispel the breast cancer women's fear of losing hair.  





Towards this charitable event is very much appreciated and we salute them. Whilst in this activities with head-shaved for charity funds raising activities, it carries and spreads the words with love and increase of public awareness of breast cancer, as the main aim to enlighten women on breast health and breast cancer prevention.

Last but not least, the event goes by with the souvenirs presentation to the Guest of Honour by the Kinabalu Pink Ribbon President, Ms. Lucilla Pang and follow by attractive lucky draws for the participants. All and all, this was a very successful event and 'Well Done' to Kinabalu Pink Ribbon and all the community members, sponsors, contribution associations and participants.

No matter how old or young women should take into consideration for an early detection action for breast mammogram check up to save life. The event also help to utilized in helping and supporting the low income new breast cancer victims. And this event organised by Kinabalu Pink Ribbon has took the opportunity to raise public awareness on breast cancer prevention.

This year the event is overwhelming with good response and we are hoping for best by next year again...just do it again!!
